Arc of Hope’s newest program is a scholarship for Saint Joan of Arc Uganda graduates — supporting top-performing students from the impoverished Mawuuki area with tuition, room and board for high school and college so they can secure meaningful careers.

Where our scholars are today

As of May 2025, ten students have finished the classroom portion of their college study. Four have received diplomas; six will complete thesis and internship requirements by January 2026. Pending degrees include medicine, nursing, education, business, social science and biotechnology. As of August 2025 there are 20 high-school and 6 college scholarship students.

Medicine & Surgery

Luleba was studying nursing at Mbarara University when he was offered admission to study Medicine and Surgery at Kabale University. The scholarship let him seize the opportunity; in August 2025 he begins year 4 of a 5-year program.

Social Sciences

Betty completed her Social Sciences program at Makerere University and received her Bachelor of Arts diploma in January 2025. Her goal is to assist children from single-parent homes like hers.

Civil Engineering

Francis studied Civil Engineering at Ndejje University, completing his fourth year in August 2025. He plans to gain construction-site experience while awaiting graduation in January 2026.

Business Administration

Joseph completed the classroom work for his Business Administration degree in May 2024 and his new-business project. He will receive his diploma from Makerere University in January 2026.

Bio-Technology

Kato completed his Bio-Technology coursework in May 2024 and research supporting a cancer treatment and outcome census. He receives his diploma from Makerere University, Kampala in January 2026.

Technology-Physics

Daniel finished his Technology-Physics coursework in May 2024 and is completing the design of a moisture soil sensor. He will be awarded his diploma from Kyambogo University in November 2025.

John finished his education degree requirements in May 2024 and received his Bachelor of Science from Makerere University in January 2025. He wants to make a positive impact on education in Gomba.

Felix has completed his coursework and is now doing his clinical study for a Certificate in Nursing at Kampala University.
