In January 2024, 2023 PLE Results were released: SJA Mawuuki P.7 students did very well on the PLE in November 2023! All 56 passed, 22 in Division 1 and 34 in Division 2! SJA Uganda continues to strive for excellence in the holistic approach (including a weather station) to education and teachers and staff are building on these results for their plans for 2024.
On February 4, 2024 St. Joan of Arc Mawuuki started the new school year with a record 822 students! A new boys' dormitory and new kitchen stoves have been added to accomodate the record level enrollment.
As part of the "Ambassador" program at The Academy of St. Joan of Arc Evanston (SJA America), the students in middle school find ways to spread goodwill and information about the great work happening at SJA Uganda. These ambassadors have learned about the school, the Ugandan culture and the support that comes from donors to Arc of Hope in Evanston. The Ambassador students at SJA America purchased red, white and blue bracelets with the inscription, "Students at SJA America are Thinking of You!" and sent them back with Fr Simon Peter. The bracelets are an ongoing effort to celebrate the relationship between the two schools. (They anxiously await the birth of a calf from Monica, the cow purchased by Academy 2023 Penny Carnival donations!)
