Arc of Hope is a non-profit organization serving St. Joan of Arc school in Mawuuki, Uganda, East Africa.
Secondary Scholars
Arc of Hope’s newest addition is a scholarship program for past Saint Joan of Arc Uganda students. Our goal is to supplement top performing students tuition for secondary education, allowing them to continue their educational journey and in the future enter the work force.
As of May 2023, there are now 29 students in the program, 11 are enrolled in college and 18 are enrolled in high school, including 3 scholars from the recent P.7 graduating class. Below you can see some of our current college scholarship recipients. Recently they received laptops for use in research and online education while they are participants in the scholarship program.
Luleba Lawrence, who was studying for a bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Mbarra University transferred to Kabul University when he was offered admission to study for a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. The scholarship allowed him to take advantage of this opportunity.
Nalubega Betty is studying Social Sciences at the Makerere University and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is in her first year of courses and the program will run for three years.
Kibuuka Felix is in his first year of studying for a Certificate in Nursing at Kampala University. He will be in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences for two and a half years.
