St. Joan of Arc Uganda held an Inter-house Music, Dance and Drama competition on April 12 as part of the school’s ambition to teach the holistic child. Students competed in singing a set piece (East African Anthem), folk dancing from across Uganda, and reciting poems and giving speeches.
Student practices began on March 20 through April 10 with the final performance on April 12. Students were assigned to a specific “house” and competed with that group under the name of a specific saint. St. Michael house (green) won the competition and received a goat for roasting at a feast at the end of the term. St. Kizito (blue) was in second place and received some money to celebrate their position. St. Mary Gorret (red) was in third place and received some money for motivation. And the final house, St. Mary (yellow) received a small amount of money for motivation. The enthusiasm and creativity of students combined with the passionate involvement of the entire staff made the competitive event a success!
